Accepting submissions: ‘Holes’

Andperseand is currently accepting submissions of text, images, and video for the online manifestation of Holes, the first issue of our online publication. Inspiration comes from Guatemalan sinkholes, the Mole Man of Dalston, black holes, minescapes, glory holes, palpable lacks, rabbit holes, excavation, and of course the outflow of oil and gas currently streaming into the Gulf of Mexico from deep beneath the seabed.

We are currently creating an online platform that can host themed issues while being agile enough to be able to respond to the exigencies of the present: an issue like Holes might be followed by a quickly generated issue responding a new novel, artwork, or current event. Each issue will have a distinct editorial presence and commissioned work will be presented alongside found material. Having the publication online will allow each issue to develop after publication, as new material can be added after the initial release. We are working on a framework that will allow us to continually update any given issue while avoiding the descending chronological order of most blogs that prioritizes the most resent post. Each issue will have a corresponding physical manifestation – poster, fanzine, postcard – that will compliment the online material.
